O.P.S. distributors now offers you a range of safe, toxin free products for children

For those who are unaware of it, most clear polycarbonate plastic products, including baby bottles and other health related consumer products contain a toxic chemical known as BISPHENOL-A. Over a period of usage, this chemical can be absorbed by the consumer (especially babies) causing serious harm. (For further information on this chemical and its effects, scroll down this page

At O.P.S., our concern for our own children’s health as well as others’, has lead us to search internationally for products which are not only practical, but are also safe for our loved ones and do not (as so many other standard product do) poison them!

Over the coming year, we will be adding products to our catalogue, which we feel are safe for our customers, their families and those they work with, especially in the health sector.

For our children, we begin by offering our EASYFEED baby bottle, which contains no Bisphenol-A or other poisonous substances.

EASYFEED baby bottles come in a standard 8oz, 240ml size and with an attractive choice of colours; clear with white cap, pink with pink cap and blue with blue cap. Each cap holds the nip of the bottle in place preventing the contents of the bottle from leaking.

As with our EASYFEED baby bottles, our soothers and baby bottle nips are also made from toxin-free, non poisonous material, guaranteeing a much healthier and safe environment for our children or grandchildren.

EASYFEED baby bottles also cater for babies born with sucking problems such as cleft lip or palate, Premature Birth and Down Syndrome. The bottle is pliable and enables the parent to slightly squeeze the food from the bottle as these babies have great difficulty in sucking the food for themselves.

Our Children’s Products (remember that this range will increase as other products meet our stringent requirements):

* Toxin-free EASYFEED baby bottles
* Toxin-free EASYFEED Baby Bottle Nips
* Toxin-free Soothers
* Sterilisers
*Tooth brush sterilizer

Other products coming soon:

* Toxin-free Sports Drinks bottles

Remember, what our children take in today, may well affect them for the rest of their lives, and the better and healthier their start in life, the better and healthier will be their future; which happens to be O.P.S.’s main concern.

WHAT IS BISPHENOL-A?

BPA, a ubiquitous, estrogen-mimicking chemical has been linked to a variety of diseases including an increased risk of diseases or disorders of the brain, reproductive, and immune systems; recent studies have linked BPA exposure to problems with liver function testing, and interruptions in chemotherapy treatment; and BPA exposure has long been linked to hormonal disturbances. BPA was also linked to serious health problems based on 130 studies conducted in the past 10 years and newer research found BPA to have negative effects at "very low doses," lower than the FDA's safety standards currently in place.

Experts believe BPA enters the body through food and drink containers; the chemical has long been at the root of an ongoing controversy regarding its presence in baby bottles and other children's products. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued its original report on BPA this summer-deeming BPA levels in plastic baby bottles and canned foods to be safe-and was roundly criticized by the scientific community and consumer advocacy groups for relying on two studies funded by the chemical industry. After months of criticism, the FDA announced in December that it is finally reviewing its draft assessment on BPA. Now, the FDA is reportedly reconsidering hundreds of independent research studies pointing to BPA's harms and that, at currently approved levels, BPA is not safe.

* Scientists have linked very low doses of Bisphenol-A exposure to cancers, impaired immune function, early onset of puberty, obesity, diabetes, and hyperactivity, among other problems.
* For example, in one recent study, a single, low dose of Bisphenol-A administered to a newborn rat resulted in hyperactive behaviour.
* The U.S. Centre for Disease Control and Prevention found Bisphenol-A in the urine of over 95% of people they tested. Alarmingly, the median level of Bisphenol-A in humans is higher than the level that causes adverse effects in animal studies.

When it comes to our children we automatically think Health and Safety. Every parent is committed to give their child the best start in Life.

We at OPS are continually researching Baby Products and are proud to source only safe, toxin free products to our wholesalers and retailers.

OPS welcome your comments to help make our childrens world a safer and healthier place.
